Summary: | The idea of multi-sector learning gangs is simple and powerful-bring together people with key characteristics, such as high output/low egos, aggressive about learning, and open to reaching outside of their fields for ideas-and magic happens. An idea that has grown organically, the gangs have become an important part of several leaders' learning lives. The groups we have formed include organizations from the fields of sports to law enforcement, dance to software. In one community alone, some 29 people from 27 organizations participate in learning gangs. In this article, we talk about what learning gangs are, why people join, and what the benefits are to the individuals, their organizations, and their communities.
