Summary: | Relevance of the Western paradigm in Enterprise research and training when applied to Asian/Eastern cultures, has been questioned and found to be of limited value. This paper suggests that what is required is neither a 'reinvention of the wheel' in each cultural context, nor the blind transference of training programmes rooted in Western culture, but a research-based adaptation of such programmes to suit culture - specific requirements. This would service to rapidly and effectively professionalize enterprise training. The experience of NMIMS in adapting SEF's Enterprise Training Programme for Women has been used to illustrate and substantiate this hypothesis. |
